0ne of the most important things I've done in coaching has been to realize that in order for my players to be successful at whatever skill I'm teaching them, I need to pass on to them a way to build their skill one step (or sequence) at a time. I always believed young boys and girls could copy my instructions regardless of what sport it was. What I found was yes, they can copy my instructions, but hey, each were able to remember and perform different things at different speeds, similar to when they learned to walk.
